HDT Extends Fleet Innovators Deadline to May 22
Heavy Duty Trucking is giving fleets until May 22 to nominate leaders for its 2026 Truck Fleet Innovators awards, with honorees set for HDT Exchange in September.

More Time for Fleet Nominations
Heavy Duty Trucking has extended nominations for its 2026 Truck Fleet Innovators awards to May 22, 2026, giving fleets an extra window to put forward leaders who are changing how their operations run.
The program is aimed at people inside trucking fleets who have pushed meaningful improvements in areas such as equipment, maintenance, safety, driver programs, sustainability, fuel economy, operations, or IT. Nominees can be senior executives or leaders of a specific department, and they can be nominated by coworkers, customers, family members, suppliers, or themselves.
Who Qualifies
HDT says nominees must be leaders at trucking fleets running Class 8 trucks, including for-hire, private, or government fleets. Mixed fleets that operate lighter-duty vehicles alongside heavy-duty equipment are also eligible, but industry suppliers are not.
What Winners Receive
Selected innovators will be profiled in HDT's July/August magazine issue and digital coverage. They will also be guests at Heavy Duty Trucking Exchange in Scottsdale, Arizona, scheduled for September 21-23, where they will receive awards and join a panel discussion.
For fleet managers, the award is less about a trophy than a useful signal: HDT is looking for practical ideas that other operators can learn from, not just large-company transformation projects.
