Commercial Fleet Sales Rise 10% in June
Commercial fleet sales reached 79,625 vehicles in June, up 10.1% from a year earlier, while first-half commercial sales rose 7.6%.
June fleet sales kept climbing
Commercial fleet sales reached 79,625 vehicles in June, up 10.1% from 72,306 vehicles a year earlier, according to monthly fleet sales figures reported by Automotive Fleet from Bobit Business Media.
The gain followed a May dip and kept the commercial segment ahead for the first half of 2026. Through June 30, commercial fleet sales totaled 431,870 vehicles, up 7.6% from 401,268 during the same period in 2025.
Rental and government fleets also added volume
The broader fleet market moved in the same direction. Rental fleet sales rose 11.5% in June to 108,432 vehicles, while government fleet sales rose 5% to 22,626 vehicles. Together, commercial, rental, and government sales reached 210,683 vehicles for the month, a 10.3% year-over-year increase.
For the first half, total fleet sales across those three segments reached 1,251,619 vehicles, up 4.4% from the first six months of 2025. The dataset covers cars, SUVs, and trucks from Detroit automakers, the Asian Big 6, and Volkswagen.
What fleets should watch
The numbers point to a fleet buying environment that is still active despite higher costs, longer planning cycles, and uncertainty around model-year availability. For organizations replacing sedans, SUVs, vans, and work trucks, the practical takeaway is that fleet demand is not softening evenly. Order timing, allocation, incentives, and remarketing values may stay competitive as commercial buyers continue refreshing vehicles in the second half.
